Round bending handrail ø60 mm in Bendywood®-beech
flattened and with groove/plow
- At first a mould with a 30 degree angle (according to the stairway’s inclination) is prepared;
- Then a central cut is made in the handrail (horizontally) and a glued strip of Bendywood® is inserted in this groove;
- Subsequently, the handrail (including strip) is bent around the mould using chunks for pressing;
- After a day the bent handrail is taken from the mould and sanded. Upon removal from the mould there is only a minor spring-back, as the glue has stabilized the bend.
